Gloria Ryan, 97, of Florham Park, passed away peacefully at her home with the loving support of her family on September 15, 2024.
Born and raised in Jackson Heights Queens, Gloria attended St. Joan of Arc Elementary School and Cathedral High School, and then went on to graduate from Parsons School of Design in Manhattan. A talented package designer, artist, and calligrapher, Gloria found her true love down the street in her beloved Charlie. The two of them were great parents and grandparents, as well as providers of a welcoming home to all family and friends.
Gloria was always a great source of wisdom, a patient listener, and an advocate of a “problem shared is a problem halved”. She was a long-time communicant of Holy Family Church and was dedicated to her Catholic faith.
Devoted mother to Michael Ryan, his wife Wendy, Joanne Ryan, Thomas Ryan, his wife Rhonda, and Ellen Ryan. Cherished grandmother of Katherine Ryan, Jennifer Ryan, and Geovanni Ryan. Gloria will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends.
Gloria was pre-deceased by her husband Charles A. Ryan (October 28, 2003), her parents Joseph and Mary Cummins, and her siblings Mary, Peggy, and Joe.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Wednesday from 4-7pm. Funeral on Thursday, assembling at the funeral home at 9am, followed by the funeral mass at Holy Family Church in Florham Park at 10am. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in E. Hanover.
