Frank Paul Valvano Sr. Of East Hanover, Mantoloking Shores and Jupiter passed away suddenly on March 11th, 2020. He was predeceased by his parents, Salvatore and Catherine Valvano and is survived by his loving wife Marilyn, daughter Dana Sullivan and her husband Sean, his son Frank Jr and his wife Kelly. He was the beloved “Pop” to Sean Jr., Frank III, Andie, Christian and Daniel. Frank is also survived by his dear sister Camille Acque, her husband Dominic, and his five nephews.
Frank was born in Newark, a fact he’d always be sure you knew. He started working at Wm. S Rich and Son at 16, quickly rising to manager and ultimately buying the 100 year old company, along with his great friend Mike, in 1985. He proceeded to turn it into the largest pawn broker in NJ. He retired in 2013, leaving the business in the capable hands of his son, and his surrogate son Irwin.
Anyone who was lucky enough to meet Frank, even over one meal or drink, will know how much of an impact he made in all our lives.
