Francis P. Giampino, Jr. (“Frank”), 84, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2021.
Frank was born and raised in Irvington, graduated from Irvington High School, and lived there for many years before moving to Whippany in 1974. One of his accomplishments was winning the NJ State award for Best Accordionist in 1956. He also played at Carnegie Hall in NY City while competing for the Nationals. He continued his music career in the US Navy (1957-61) and traveled the world playing with the US Navy band. Frank also taught music at Major Music School in Irvington and later on gave private lessons. Frank was a caring, loving and gentle soul whose greatest joy was music and spending time with his loving family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Dear brother of Raymond J. Giampino (wife Carol), Ronald L. Giampino (wife Annabelle), Sonya G. Longo (husband Anthony J.) and Gary Giampino (wife Suzanne). Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Frank was predeceased by his parents Frank and Julia Giampino.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Monday from 11am-12:15pm, followed by a prayer service at 12:15pm. Inurnment to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery.
