Ettore Iorillo Obituary

Ettore L. Iorillo, “Eddie”, 92, of Stirling, passed away peacefully at his home on March 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Eddie was born in Flumeri, a farming town in Southeastern Italy, the ninth of twelve children. He and Anna were childhood sweethearts, and he returned to Italy to marry her in 1961. They came back to the United States as husband and wife and spent the next 64 years together, raising a family and living a full life amongst people who loved them.

He began his working life shining shoes in Newark, later barbering at Angelo’s before spending 17 years at Ernie’s Barber Shop in Chatham. In 1972, he opened Eddie’s Barber Shop in Florham Park, where he spent the rest of his life cutting hair for generations of families in the Morris County area—including members of the New York Jets, his favorite football team. He loved his work and the people whose lives he touched.

He was a proud and devoted grandfather who rarely missed a dance recital, baseball or soccer game, or gymnastics meet. A lifelong baseball fan who regularly listened to the Mets and Yankees on the radio, he especially enjoyed watching his grandson, Joseph, play the game through college.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Anna Iorillo, and his sister Mafalda. Eddie was a devoted father to his children Jennifer DalCielo and Mari Giovinco and her husband Chris, and his nephew Tony Iorillo and his wife, Rosina. He was a beloved grandfather to Joseph and Gianna, Emilia and Sara, and great-grandfather to Elena. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Giuseppe and Genoveffa, and many of his siblings. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews who stood alongside his family with love and presence during his final journey.

Eddie was a beloved member of the Florham Park community and will be deeply missed by his family, extended family, and many friends.  For generations, his barber chair was a place of friendship, laughter, and stories that will never be forgotten.
