Edmund V. Fabrizio, 85, of Randolph, formerly of Newark, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Edmund was a highly respected and beloved teacher by both his peers and his students. His educational accomplishments included Bachelor and Master of Science, Montclair Teachers College, Doctorate Degree of Supervision and Administration Montclair Teachers College and Stevens Institute.
As head supervisor of the Livingston High School science department of 37 years, he rallied his students to achieve their academic best, many which he guided toward awards and scholarships. He made the same impact in his second career when Seton Hall prep drew him out of retirement and besought him a new opportunity to educate more students. Always a teacher, he was a mentor to many friends and family. The advice giver, the trusted confidant, the advocate for the underserved. He always made time and effort to listen, hear and respond to the needs of others. Those who knew Ed, laughed along with his quick-witted puns and his jokes - often told around the family table and he was always ready to add his humor, sometimes guised with the wisdom of his words.
Edmund and Rosanne met at 16 in orchestra class at Barringer High School, Newark, NJ. He was a member of the honor society, top 10 in his graduating class, first chair violinist and bass. Married for 65 years, an exemplary role model couple whose love and respect for each other built solid family roots, values and an iconic history of their achievements together. Edmund showed unconditional love for his children and grandchildren, offering insight and many opportunities to help each attain their own achievements and successes.
Beloved husband of 65 years to Rosanne (Lardieri) Fabrizio. Devoted father of Maria Fabrizio, her partner Dave Hughson, Carolyn Verlangieri and her husband John Verlangieri. Cherished grandfather of James Lemieux, Christina Lemieux and Adriana Verlangieri. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Edmund was pre-deceased by his sister Carolyn DeLia.
