Edith E. Hoffman, passed away on October 24, 2020 in Morristown Memorial Hospital of cardiac arrest.
She was born in Lyck, East Prussia, Germany on February 9, 1929 and came to the USA with her parents in 1932. Raised in Irvington, NJ, she moved to Florham Park in October of 1965 with her husband Austin and her three children.
Edith was a member of Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Florham Park since 1968, where she taught Sunday School and helped at the women’s shelter for many years, was a member of the Altar Guild and the Sew N’ So’s, knitting items for the children in Appalachia. She was a leader for Brownie Troop 55 for six years, as well as a member of the Florham Park Senior Citizens Club and AARP Chapter 5109.
Beloved wife of 68 years to Austin J. Hoffman. Devoted mother of Karen Van Riper and Heidi Marrero. Cherished grandmother of Connor, Rusty, Jenna, Julia, Ashley, Alyssa and Michael. Proud great-grandmother of James. Edith is pre-deceased by her son Austin Hoffman, II, her brothers Edward and Gunther, and her sisters Ursula and Inge.
