Dora V. Novick passed away after a long illness on June 9, 2022. Dora was born In Brooklyn, New York on August 27, 1926. While she lived a number of years in Queens, she shared a lifelong love of Brooklyn with her brother, Joe Varricchio.
Dora worked for over 25 years as an executive secretary for SSC&BS, a subsidiary of the Interpublic Group, a major advertising firm. She also worked at other major corporations, such as First National City Bank, the predessor to Citibank, for 10 years, Mobil Oil, now part of ExxonMobil, and the drug company, Squibb. At home, Dora was an excellent cook, and especially enjoyed making her favorite Italian specialties around the holidays for her family. She loved sitting over a cup of coffee, talking to friends. Dora also loved to travel, especially with her family, to places like Paris, London, Bermuda, San Francisco, Boston, Miami, Albuquerque, Tucson, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, and even Disney World.
She was a devoted mother of Mary Novick and her husband Nicholas Riccio. Dora was an especially cherished grandmother of David Riccio, his wife Mercy, and Paul Riccio. Dora was pre-deceased by her parents Gaetano and Maria Varricchio and her brother, Joseph Varrichio.
Visitation is at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Friday, June 17th from 4-7pm. The funeral mass is on Saturday, June 18th, assembling at the funeral home at 9am followed by the funeral mass at Holy Family Church in Florham Park at 10am.
