Dolly Funicelli

M. Gertrude Funicelli, “Dolly”, 87, of Ledgewood, formerly of East Hanover, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026. 

Dolly was a former member of WIBC Early Birds Bowling, Bunco Ladies of East Hanover and Florham Park Ladies Auxiliary (Elks).

Devoted mother of Linda Schaefer, her husband Jim, Steven J. Funicelli, his wife Julianne, Karen Westergaard, her husband Greg, Donna Di Chiara and her husband Dave.  Cherished grandmother of Matthew, his husband Michael, and Christopher, Brianna, her husband JohnMichael, Brittany, her husband Dennis, and Steven Jr., Daniel and Brian, David and Daniella.  Proud great-grandmother of Julianna, Giovanni and Alaina.  Dear sister of Joseph Phelan, Edward Phelan and Mary Freda.  Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Dolly was pre-deceased by her husband Stanley Funicelli, her parents George and Frances Phelan, and her siblings George Phelan and Barbara Isselin. 

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Tuesday, February 17th from 10am – 1pm.  The burial will be held privately to the family.
