Constance E. “Connie” Bieber, 89, of Florham Park, NJ, passed away suddenly at home on May 9, 2024.
Born in West Middletown, PA in January 1935, Connie moved with her family to the Bronx, NY at a young age, where she spent much of her youth. After graduating James Monroe High School, Connie worked briefly for the local phone company in New York City before settling on Long Island with her husband, Bill, and their three children. In the ensuing years, she later relocated with her family to Wallingford, Conn. before finally settling in Florham Park during the mid-1970s. Beginning in the mid-1960s, Connie also spent a good deal of her time at her family’s mountain retreat in Preston Hollow, NY
Through the years, Connie developed a passion for antique collecting, amassing a vast collection of old furniture, flatware, and decorative items, which she proudly displayed in her homes, including her circa-1800 house in Florham Park. In the process, she also developed a keen expertise in the antique business, which led to her opening her own store – Blue Windmill Antiques – in Pluckemin, NJ.
In addition to antiques, Connie’s other passions includeing baseball – she was a fan of both the NY Yankees and Mets for much of her life, reading, cooking and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, to whom she was devoted and generous with her time and love. Connie’s home was a center of family social activities, whether they be holidays, birthdays, graduations or the annual Florham Park July 4th Parade and celebrations – and her family and friends looked forward to the time they would get to spend with her as a warm and welcoming host.
Connie is survived by a daughter, Lisa Rowe, her companion Ed Becker of Florham Park, NJ, a son William L. Bieber and his wife Jenny of Parsippany, NJ, and a daughter, Tracy Brown of Parsippany, NJ. She was the cherished grandmother of Jason, his husband Jerry, Christopher, Dina, her husband Jason, William Jr., his wife Marielle, Ryan, his wife Corey, and Mackenzie. She was the proud great-grandmother of Adelyn (Addie), Ford, Vienna and Cameron. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Connie was pre-deceased by her husband William R. Bieber, her parents Alva and Edna Jones, and her son-in-law’s David Rowe, Jr. and Glenn Brown.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Wednesday from 4-7pm. Funeral on Thursday, assembling at the funeral home at 10:30am, followed by a service at the funeral home at 11am. Interment at Hanover Cemetery in E. Hanover.
