Mueller, Charles George, age 93, of Windermere, FL formerly of Florham Park, NJ passed away on October 24, 2023. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Florence, in 2021, and is survived by their two children Rick Mueller and his wife Monique, of Florham Park, NJ and Cheryl Simpson of Windermere, FL; as well as six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Born in Newark, NJ, Charles (Charlie, or Chuck to many) lived his entire life on Brooklake Road in Florham Park. He attended Madison High School, Newark College of Engineering (now known as NJIT) and ultimately obtained his law degree from Seton Hall University. His professional career included selling commercial washing machines to being an electrical engineer at Western Electric until ultimately practicing law in Florham Park as well as Tom’s River.
Charles was civic minded; serving as Chairman of the town’s Light Industry Committee as a young man, helping establish the town’s reputation as business friendly and keeping property taxes low. He was one of the original volunteers of the Florham Park Fire Department, was the first President of the Rotary Club during its inaugural year in Florham Park and handled legal matters as the attorney for the Florham Park Sewerage Authority as well. In addition, Charles was a long-time member of the Lavallette Yacht Club and the Eaglewood Golf and Country Club in Hobe Sound, FL.
At his request, there will be a private burial for immediate family only.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his name to the Florham Park Fire Department, Rotary Club of Florham Park or Cornerstone Hospice Foundation (firstname.lastname@example.org).
