Catherine R Turrisi

Catherine R. Turrisi, “Cathy”, 74, of E. Hanover, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on November 5, 2024.

Cathy was born in Catanzaro, Italy and came to America when she was 5 years old. Nothing brought her more joy than her family and cooking. No one ever left hungry. She was well known for her meatballs. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Cathy and her husband Carmen were married for 53 years and built their home together in East Hanover. 

Beloved wife of Carmen Turrisi, Jr.  Devoted mother of Jennifer Cavanaugh, her husband Michael, Stephanie Turrisi and Anthony Turrisi.  Cherished grandmother of Joseph Valedofsky, Abby Valedofsky and Samantha Cavanaugh.  Dear sister of Domenic Scalise. 

Cathy was pre-deceased by her parents Gaetano and Rose Scalise, and her brother John Scalise. 

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Thursday from 4-7pm.  Funeral on Friday, assembling at the funeral home at 9am, followed by a service at the funeral home at 10am.  Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in E. Hanover.
