Beverly Grasso Obituary

Beverly (Payer) Grasso, 69, of Florham Park, formerly of Union, passed away at her home on October 29, 2022.

Beverly was born in Newark and raised in Port Reading, NJ.  She graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1971.  After High School she married Freddie Grasso and resided on Garside Street in Newark.  Beverly later moved to Union where she worked at the Union Marketplace and later finished her career at Green Hill Nursing Home.

She was a rare kind of spirit who gave everything and wanted nothing.  A personality that was fiercely honest and infectiously hilarious.  She candidly liked giving her opinion on world events, which may have included a few F-bombs.

Her Patience was immense when you wanted to open your soul to her.  Even if she didn't have the answers, she always would just listen and make you feel you are being heard and loved.  Her determination was strong.  She dedicated long immeasurable hours to making sure the family was cared for.  Though selective, her friendship was more precious than gold itself.

Beverly lived the last 16 years with her daughter, son in law and 3 grandchildren. She was known as "MaMa" to her grandchildren and their friends.  She devoted her time to babysitting, playing games and watching movies with them.  Mama could occasionally be found in the car watching a sports event.  She loved music from all generations (no rap music please) she would play the music and sing with them.  She was their best friend and would be there whenever they needed her.  She was a shoulder to cry on, listened when venting and good for a nice gift!  She put them before anyone else!

Devoted mother of Alfie Zirpoli and her husband Jason, Joseph Lovenguth and his wife Nicole.  Cherished grandmother of Luca, Mia and Rocco Zirpoli.

Beverly was pre-deceased by her husband Freddie, her parents Joseph & Margaret, and her brother Joe.

Funeral service was held privately to the family.
