Arlene M. Petrillo, 80, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on February 12, 2020.
Arlene was born and raised in Orange where she graduated from Orange High School in 1957. She then lived in Livingston and East Hanover for many years. She worked as a secretary for Weyerhaeuser Company in Port Newark, an administrative assistant for Foster Wheeler Energy Corporation in Livingston and was the office manager for her husband’s Landscaping business.
Arlene was the founder of the Essex County Landscapers Association in 1967, a co-op which branched off into numerous others. She also served on the Republican Committee in Livingston, as a Cub Scout Den Mother at Squiretown School in Livingston, and was a member of the East Hanover Senior Citizens Club. Arlene enjoyed crossword puzzles and needle work.
Beloved wife of 55 years to Anthony Petrillo. Devoted mother of Thomas A. Petrillo, Anthony Petrillo, Jr. and his wife Teresa.
She is predeceased by her parents Thomas and Mary Monica, her sisters Josephine “Dolly” Leander and Anne Marie Selvaggio, and her brother John T. Monica.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, 210 Ridgedale Ave., Florham Park on Monday from 4-8pm. Funeral on Tuesday assembling at the funeral home at 8:45am followed by the funeral mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 9:45am. Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
