Arcangelo “Archie” Ferraro, 77, of East Hanover, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his sons on April 10, 2022.
Archie is survived by: son, Michael Ferraro, and girlfriend, Christine Ryan; son, Vin Ferraro, and fiancée, Kelly Beckert. Cherished grandfather of Makayla and Nicholas Ferraro, he is the dear brother of Ralph Ferraro and wife, Judy. Archie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and friends.
Archie was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Judy A. Ferraro (née Ciampi); his parents, Vincenzo and Josephine Ferraro; brother, Anthony Ferraro, and wife, Joanne; and sister, Filomena Ferraro Bocchino.
A native of Newark, Archie attended Barringer High School. Following graduation, he proudly served in the Navy in San Diego, a period of fond reminiscence. Returning to New Jersey, he met and married Judy, and they started a family in Livingston. Working for the Newark Board of Education for over 30 years, Archie was a licensed Master Plumber and retired as foreman. When not moonlighting, installing boilers, hot-water heaters, and water softeners, he enjoyed classic movies and spending time with family and friends. Cards were a lifelong passion. For decades, he played with the same crew on Monday nights, frequently hosting games—much to Judy’s chagrin. In retirement, he could be found at the weekly games at both the Elks and Italian American Clubs. He never missed Sunday gravy.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park, on Saturday, April 23rd, from 12pm – 3pm. A memorial funeral mass will be held on Monday, April 25th, 11:15am, at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover, followed by the inurnment at Restland Memorial Park.
