Anthony Petrillo, 81, passed away peacefully at his home in East Hanover on July 4, 2021. Anthony was born and raised in Alberona, Foggia, Italy and resided in Orange, Livingston and East Hanover, NJ. He operated his own landscaping business in Essex and Morris Counties since 1961.
Anthony was a member of the St. Isaacs Jogue Assembly, 4th Degree, Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of the Mountain Council 3533 in Livingston, Past President of the Alberonese Social Club, Italian Cultural Club, Essex County Landscapers Association, the Beaver Del Rod & Gun Club (1977-1985), the Federation of American-Italian Resurgence (Fair) Civic Organization as well as St. Maria Santessima Dell’Incoronata Society.
Anthony served as treasurer of the Italian Earthquake Relief Committee; organized the first “Old Friendship Reunion” and also served on the Essex County Republican Committee in Livingston. He was also a member of the East Hanover Senior Citizens Club and the East Hanover Elks Club. He was Honored by the L’Italico Newspaper for leadership and service to the Italian Community.
Devoted father of Thomas A. Petrillo, Anthony Petrillo, Jr. and his wife Teresa. Dear brother of Rocco Petrillo. Anthony is pre-deceased by his wife Arlene Monica Petrillo and his brother Matthew.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Thursday from 4-8pm. Funeral on Friday assembling at the funeral home at 10am followed by the funeral mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 11:15am. Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
