Anthony Cefolo, 94, of Florham Park, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2022.
Anthony “Tony” was born and raised in the Vauxhall section of Union, NJ. He was the son of Grace and Nicola Cefolo, Italian immigrants who raised Tony and his six sisters and two brothers emphasizing the importance of family. At the age of 17, Tony enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served his country during World War II. He ultimately returned to Union, NJ where he co-owned New Jersey Provision Company with his brother Mike and nephew Michael. In 1965 he married Carmen Gonzalez, the love of his life, and moved to Livingston, NJ. In 1979, they moved to Florham Park where they raised their four children. He was a generous person who loved being around friends and family. He was an avid sports fan, managed professional boxers and owned racehorses for many years. He enjoyed traveling with his family, especially spending time in Florida and Spain. Tony was constantly surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was a fixture in their lives, and they cherish every moment they spent with him.
Devoted father of Carmen Cefolo-Pane, her husband Charlie, Linda Cefolo, Susan Cefolo, Anthony N. Cefolo and his wife Stephanie. Cherished grandfather of Alexa and Jarrod, Nicolas, Cassandra and Anthony. Dear brother of Grace Rubino, Margie Solimine, Rosie DiCecco and her husband Rocky. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Anthony was pre-deceased by his wife Carmen (Gonzalez), Cefolo, his parents Nicola & Grace Cefolo, and his siblings Mildred Salsano, Michael Cefolo, Jake Cefolo, Mary Meola and Helen Mainelli.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Thursday from 4-8pm. Funeral on Friday assembling at the funeral home at 9am followed by the funeral mass at Holy Family Church in Florham Park at 10am. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
