Angelo Biunno

LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER, GRANDFATHER, WWII VETERAN AND MACHINIST

Angelo Biunno, 95, of Whippany, NJ, formerly Newark, NJ, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 6, 2018.

Born in Newark, Angelo moved to Whippany in 1980.  He was a machinist for RCA in Harrison for 25 years and then retired from Eaton Corporation as a Tool and Die Maker.

A veteran of WWII, he served in the U.S Army and traveled with the Piper Cub delivering messages in the Philippines and New Guinea. 

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Whippany and was a member of the Hanover Township Bowling League. 

He enjoyed his shore home in Ortley Beach where he spent time fishing and crabbing and taking his daily bike ride to the beach to meet his friends at the Trenton Avenue Pavilion in Lavallette.  He was also an avid gardener planting flowers and tomatoes in any place he could find. 

Beloved husband of 69 years to his “sweetheart” Angela (Bibbo).  Devoted father of Annette Putts, her husband Robert, Phyllis Stec, her husband Stanley, Nicholas Biunno and his wife Margaret.  Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Christina, Joseph, Michael, Nicole and Nicholas.  Loving uncle of several nieces and nephews.  Pre-deceased by his brother John Biunno, and sisters Grace Milici and Lenore Lombardi.

His family was most important to him and he treasured the holidays and special occasions spent with them.

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home 210 Ridgedale Ave. Florham Park on Friday from 4-8pm.  Funeral on Saturday assembling at 9am followed by a mass at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel in Whippany at 10am.  Entombment at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.  To write a condolence, visit www.LeonardisMemorialHome.com.
