Angelina M. Sweeney, “Angie”, 91, of East Hanover, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025.
Born in Bronx NY, raised in Staten Island and resided in East Hanover since 1983. Angelina retired from Gibraltar Securities in Florham Park in 1999, and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and gardening during her golden years. As a devoted Catholic she enjoyed being a Rosarian at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover.
Devoted mother of Maria MacTaggert, her husband John, John P. Sweeney, and his wife Debra; cherished Grandmother of Katie and Christopher; and survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Angelina was pre-deceased by her husband John W. Sweeney of 53 years, her parents Rosabeth (Campanelli) and Vincenzo Antonelli, and was the last surviving of 13 siblings. As the matriarch of the Antonelli family, her fierce love kept her large family together and Italian traditions alive.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Friday, July 25th from 4-7pm. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 26th at St. Vincent Martyr Roman Catholic Church in Madison at 9:45am, followed by the interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
