Angela Peterson Obituary

Angela R. Peterson (Romano), 79, of Florham Park, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 23, 2021.

Angela loved gardening, flower arranging and home decorating.  On sunny days, she would be found in her garden, or rummaging around the yard tending to her flowers. She would pick, cut and arrange her best own-grown flowers to beautify her home and those of her friends and family.  She spent many years volunteering at the Home Garden Club of Morristown-she especially loved making and decorating Christmas wreathes with all her friends at the Club.  The ability to “see” the beauty in one’s surroundings led to her love of interior designing and the creation of her own business.  She decorated several local businesses and helped stage homes during the sales process.  These abilities transitioned perfectly to her new found passion of selling real estate for Coldwell Banker and Weichert Realtors.  Like everything she did, Angela fully immersed herself into the work.  We can always remember her working long hours into the night preparing for the next showing, open house, or ultimately, contract sale. She loved life, and exercise was an important part of her day.  She participated in “Arline’s Aerobics” of Florham Park for many years with all of the group, she loved all of them.  As she needed to keep busy, she found a position at Victoria Gardens in Madison, and worked there for a number of years as a care giver.  She was gifted in the ability to always be able to work with those who had various disabling conditions, and she loved that work.

But most evident was her LOVE and DEDICATION to her family and friends. There was nothing more important to her, where she exceled and worked the hardest on. She was a mom first, and foremost, and took great pride in being a great one.  Her boys always came first, which included her husband, Bruce. Their bond of over 54-years only strengthened over time.  They were a “team” at the beginning, but merged as “One” over the years.  One of the last phrases Mom had before passing as she held Bruce’s hand and looked him in the eyes was “You’re my Honey.”

She was the center of her family’s world.  She juggled multiple careers, ran a household, and used her strong will to make sure her boys were always in line (again, including her husband).  She instilled strong values and held others accountable to them.  She was always there for her family, and taught the importance of the words faithful, resilient, and hopeful.  Bruce and Angela’s sons knew they could reach for the stars, because Mom and Dad would always be there to support their fall.

She exemplified all the wonderful traits her children and grandkids will always strive to perfect. She was loving, compassionate, humble, hard working, loyal, honest, and a wonderful human being.

Her zest for life will now add to the heavens above.  She wanted nothing more than her grandchildren to love their lives and bless the world with their own unique talents.

As the matriarch of the family, her love and support provided the family base and structure.

Beloved wife of 54-years to Bruce E. Peterson.  Devoted mother of Keith E. Peterson, his wife Tracey, Paul L. Peterson, his wife Kristine, Bruce M. Peterson and his wife Deena.  Cherished grandmother of Brooklynn and Lyric, Christian and Ashley, Skylar, Dylan and Raiyn.  Dear sister of Carmine Romano and his wife Annie.  Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
