It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Angela Margotta 87, of Florham Park, NJ, on September 7, 2025, after her courageous battle with cancer, that she handled with grace and courage.
“Angelina” as she was affectionately known, was born in Pescopagano, Italy, on March 21, 1938 to Margherita and Guiseppe Antonio Masini. She migrated to Caracas, Venezuela with her parents in 1959 and was joined by her loving husband, Leonardo Margotta in 1960. In 1969 she moved to the US settling in Orange, New Jersey with her husband and children. She later moved to Florham Park, where she resided until her passing.
During her life, Angelina was a devoted wife, loving mother and cherished grandmother. She worked as a Seamstress for many years with Teresa Godino and later owned and operated a family-owned manufacturing business with her husband “Lenny”. They manufactured garments for Talbots, Jordache, JC Penny, among others, until retirement in 2004.
In 1974, she was one of the founding members of the Women’s Pescopaganese Ladies Auxilary creating milestones in launching an inclusive social and cultural program that benefited the entire Pescopaganese community for many years. She attended many dinner dances socializing with family and friends and enjoyed dancing the night away. She traveled to Italy every summer to her hometown honoring the Blessed Patron Saint Madonna of Montemauro and spend time with treasured family and friends.
She lived her life with kindness and selflessness and always was there to lend a helping hand to family and friends. She was an active member of the Florham Park Senior center and loved to play bingo, Rummikub, going to the casino and spending time with her enormous circle of friends.
Beloved wife of Leonardo Margotta. Devoted mother of John, Rosa, Margherita and Leonardo, Jr. Cherished grandmother of Gino. She was pre-deceased by her brothers Pasquale and John, and her sister Antonietta. Angela will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park, on Thursday, September 11th from 4-7pm. Funeral on Friday, September 12th, assembling at the funeral home at 10:30am, followed by the funeral mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 11:30am. Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
