Alice Berardesco

Alice Berardesco (Gelmi), 95, of Florham Park, formerly Hillside, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024.

Alice was a homemaker until the untimely death of Carmen, her beloved husband. She then went on to obtain her GED and worked as a medical receptionist for Dr. Parker in Hillside, clerical receptionist for Ryder Insurance in Union, then a sales clerk at various department stores. In retirement she was a volunteer at Morristown Memorial Hospital where she made many friends. Her caring nature made everyone she met a friend.

One such friend introduced her to Covenant Chapel church which changed her life, restored her faith and brought her many new friends. 

Alice loved having her family and friends over for dinner, she enjoyed crocheting afghans for all, and befriended all her neighbors at her apartment. She had a talent for bringing people together. 

Devoted mother of Lisa Choplo, her husband Joseph Choplo, Diane DiNunzio, her husband Bob DiNunzio, Gina Berardesco and her husband Dave Ventre.  Cherished grandmother of Thomas DiNunzio, his wife Caitlin, Gina Kavanagh and her husband Michael.  Proud great-grandmother of Lily Jane, Owen Thomas and Chiara Alice.  Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Alice was pre-deceased by her husband Carmen Berardesco, and was the last surviving of 9 siblings.

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Friday, November 29th from 10am-11:45am, followed by a service at the funeral home at 11:45am.  Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in E. Hanover.
