Alfonso Lardone, 60 years old, passed away on March 18, 2020, at Hackensack Meridian Health - Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, NJ, from complications of COVID-19.
Alfonso is survived by his wife Martha Howland Lardone, to whom he was married for 27 years. He was also survived by his stepsons, David and William Howland.
Also surviving are Alfonso’s loving parents, Vincenzo and Leonarda (Rita); his four sisters: Raffaela (Lina) and her husband Bartalomeo Viola; Teresa and her husband Anthony Arce, Patrizia (Patty) and her husband Vincent Acquaviva, Anna and her husband Eugene Angelo. In addition to his immediate family, Alfonso was also survived by several nieces and nephews:
Nieces: Rosalia Minervini and her husband Corrado; Gianna, Gabriella and Vianna; Great Nieces: Mia, Giuliana, Ava, and Vianna Nephews: Gaspare Viola and his wife Romina; Vincenzo, Anthony, Eugene, Vincent and Gerard; Great Nephews: Michael and Corrado
Alfonso grew up in Italy until the age of 11, moved to Newark, New Jersey, and once married in 1992, moved to Montclair where he lived until his passing. Alfonso worked various jobs in Newark, Belleville and Montclair and was a common staple in his nearby neighborhood. He was best friends with George LaTorre and his family for 40 years as well as childhood friends, George Hannon and Chris Giangeruso. Alfonso attended the Montclair Community Church in Montclair, New Jersey He loved all animals, but especially his cat, Alex, and his foster dog, Chucky. He was a great storyteller and very much appreciated the love and care given to him by his parents throughout his life.
