Viola Canfora (nee: DePola), 88, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends on June 3, 2021.  She was born in Portage, PA on December 20, 1932. She moved to NJ at the age of 12. She spent most of her years in Newark, then Belleville, and most recently Cedar Knolls. Viola worked as a medical secretary from the age of 14, with more than 30 years in Clara Maass Medical Center before retiring.

Viola was always the life of the party. She had a beautiful singing voice and performed in church stage shows and sang in the choir for many years at St. Francis Xavier Church. Viola was an honorary member of the Livingston DOES Drove #251.

Viola is pre-deceased by her husband Anthony "DeeDee" Canfora.

Devoted mother of 4 children; Michael Canfora, Sr., Jeffrey Canfora, Sr., his wife Claire, Dr. Lisa Fassett, Rhea Borbotti and her husband Robert.  Cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren; Michael Canfora, Jr., his wife Jenna, Jenna DeVincenzo, her husband Rob, Jeffrey Canfora, Jr., Anthony Canfora, Deanna and Tommy Vazzano, Delora, Vietta and Jason Borbotti.  Proud great-grandmother of Michaela Canfora.  Dear sister of Rosemarie Sierchio and John DePola.

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Sunday from 2-5pm.  Funeral on Monday assembling at 8:45am followed by the funeral mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 9:45am.  Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
