Theresa Anne
Murphy
d. Dec 24, 2024
Theresa Anne (Trisuzzi) Murphy, "Terry", 72, of E. Hanover, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on December 24, 2024.
Terry was a passionate teacher of education for 19 years in the Parsippany School District as a classroom teacher, enhancing the gifted and talented program for the second half of her career. She continued to fulfill her passion as a mentor for current student teachers at Montclair State University.
Her love for family defined Terry's life. Her granddaughter, Madison, and grandson Connor, lit up her life and brought joy to her every day.
Terry's favorite place to be was in the kitchen watching her husband Murph. Murph expressed his care through the meals he lovingly prepared for her, turning ordinary days into cherished memories. Together for 51 years, after meeting at Bond's in Montclair during their teens, Terry followed Murph to San Francisco while he was in the Navy, starting their many adventures together and fueling her love for travel.
Her passion for traveling was evident in her many escapades with family (especially her daughters), husband, and friends. She fulfilled her dream by visiting Scotland, as Outlander was her favorite show, dogsledding in Alaska, taking in the aloha of Hawaii, and most recently, traveling to Switzerland, Italy, Cape May, and North Carolina. Just this summer Terry enjoyed a cruise with her husband, daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren.
Terry was a devoted wife of 51 years to Edward D. Murphy. Loving mother of Lauren Anne Mensing, her husband Brian, Allison Theresa Murphy-Sobala, and her husband John. Cherished grandmother of Madison Lauren and Connor Edward. Dear sister of James Trisuzzi, his wife Phyllis, Carol Hardcastle, and her husband Donald. Terry is also survived by her sister-in-law Sue Trisuzzi-Smolinsky, her nephew Paul, her nieces Jayme, Kristen, and Marissa, as well as many cousins and friends.
Terry was pre-deceased by her parents James and Anne Trisuzzi and her brother Paul Trisuzzi.
