Rosario Chiovaro

Rosario Chiovaro, 59, of Whippany, passed away on September 14, 2026.

Rosario was born in Palermo, Sicily, and came to the United States with his family at just two years old. From an early age, he developed a love for cars and motorcycles, a passion that would ultimately become a defining part of his life. At 15, he began working alongside his father at C&G Imported Car Repairs in Verona, NJ, the family business his father established after coming to the United States. Over the years, Rosario took on an increasingly important role before eventually taking over the business himself. He was known for his tireless work ethic, his integrity, and his belief in showing up and giving his best day after day.

Outside of work, Rosario found happiness in the simple things he loved most. He looked forward to riding his motorcycles on the weekends, enjoying a cigar while working around the house, and sharing snacks with his beloved dog, Zoey. Above all else, Rosario was fiercely loyal to the people he loved. His family and friends could always count on him, and the relationships he built and maintained throughout his life meant everything to him.

Beloved husband of 34 years to Donna (Grande) Chiovaro. Devoted father of Rosario Chiovaro, Jr. and Marco Chiovaro. Cherished son of Giovanni and Maria Chiovaro. Dear brother of Maurizio Chiovaro and Roberto Chiovaro. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rosario was predeceased by his beloved dog, Zoey, who held a special place in his heart.

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Friday, September 18th from 4-7pm. Funeral mass on Saturday, September 19th, 9:45am at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover, followed by the entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
