Peter Verrone, Jr., 80, of Florham Park, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2022. He was the beloved husband, father and grandfather who passed surrounded by his family.

Beloved husband of 55 years to Jo-Anne (Strang) Verrone.  Devoted father of Peter J. Verrone and his wife Mary.  Cherished grandfather of Tia Verrone and Skyler Verrone.  Dear brother of Dolores Cruz and Ann Brown.  Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Peter was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1964 as well as the Air Force Reserves in 1966. After serving his country during the Vietnam War, he was employed by Precision Engineering in Marlboro, NJ. He attended Wilfred Beauty and Cosmetology Academy in Asbury Park.

From his early career with Studio Girl Salon in Middletown, he went on to owning his own salons: Shore Beauty Salon in Belmar, NJ, and The Clipper Shoppe in Highlands, NJ.

JCPenney enticed Peter to close his hometown shops and take over their styling salon in the Ocean County Mall in Toms River, NJ.  While managing the fourteen-chair salon, it was expanded to thirty chairs. Booking all stylists to a chair at all hours, the salon became one of the top Northeast Region Salon Producers.

The next adventure was a creative sign and banner business, followed by Unique Photo in Florham Park and Fairfield, NJ.

Retirement gave him the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren Tia & Skyler from infancy through adulthood.  Peter was immensely proud of his son Peter J. and  daughter-in-law Mary.

Peter was also a member of the Highlands NJ Chamber of Commerce. Peter was raised as a Master Mason in 1975 with Monmouth Lodge No. 172 F.& A.M. in Atlantic Highlands, NJ.

Peter was predeceased by his parents Peter A. & Assunta (Sue) Verrone, and his siblings Assunta (Susie) Masiola (Ralph), Margaret Rossbach (Milton), Rosemary Robertson (Reg}, Louisa Wager (Robert), Gloria Chasy (Sidney), Patricia Hughes (Robert), Carol Eliason (Richard)  and  brother Lawrence Verrone.
