Nicolino (Nick) D'Uva, 97, of Florham Park, passed away peacefully at home on January 29, 2022.  Beloved husband of the late Emilia D'Uva (nee Cifelli).  Devoted father of Maria Napolitano (late husband Dr. Ralph), Antoinette Mazol, (husband Gregory), Grace Lami (husband Michael), and preceded in death by son Gennaro. Cherished grandfather of Kristina Bauer (Christopher), Antonella Napolitano Wong (Sheldon), Dr. Alexandra Napolitano Khan (Dr. Zeb Khan), Meredith Ryan (Jason), James Mazol (Deborah), Captain Michael Lami and First Lieutenant Nicholas Lami. Proud great-grandfather of Emily, Ben, Natalie, Alice, Jack and Serena. Dear brother of Rosina Farro and Giuseppe D'Uva, and the late Libera Armenti and Carmella Armenti.

Nick and his wife Emily immigrated to the United States in the early 1950s to pursue a better life for their growing family. He secured a job at PSE&G, followed by two concurrent jobs at Fireman's Fund Insurance Company and Adessa & Sons Plumbing Company. On the weekends, he took on side jobs to further support his family and provide for his children's education, which was always of utmost importance. He truly embodied the American Dream, coming to America with an empty wallet but an infinite determination to build a solid foundation for his family through hard work, pure grit and perseverance.  Sharp as a whip, always quick to smile, and the ultimate gentleman, Nick was beloved by all who knew him. He never showed up without a bottle of wine and a sweet treat, and took the time to get to know all who entered his world.  Despite hardships, Nick managed to see the bright side in it all, and passed along that outlook, along with his ambition and tenacity, to his children and grandchildren. It gave him immense joy and pride to see the fruits of his labor through his children, sending all three of his girls to Catholic School and then to college and onward. His loss will be a void that can never be filled. He truly was one of a kind.

A wake will be held at Leonardis Memorial Home in Florham Park, NJ on Friday, February 4th between 4p.m. and 7 p.m. A Mass will follow on Saturday, February 5th at 9:30 a.m. at St Vincent's Martyr Catholic Church in Madison, NJ followed by the burial at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum in North Arlington, NJ.
