Nicholas F. Luongo, 95, of South Orange, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2022.
Nick was a generous and caring husband, father, and friend to many. He was well loved by all that knew him and an eternal optimist. His passion was always for his family and their well-being and happiness. Nick was the founder and President of R&L Sheet Metal for 62 years. He also established Wayne Realty, LLC, a family real estate enterprise. He served in World War II in the U.S. Navy. Nick truly believed that in this world things worked out for the best. That was certainly true for his blessed life. His passing is mourned by all family and friends.
Beloved husband of 67 years to Corinne (Gazzola) Luongo. Devoted father of Karen Luongo Kapuscinski, her husband Theodore, Kenneth N. Luongo, his wife Anne, Adrienne Luongo Haas and her husband David. Cherished grandfather of Matthew Kapuscinski, his wife Marisa, Sheridan and Alexa Kapuscinski, Kendall and Noelle Gregory. Dear brother of Edvidge DeVingo and Fred Luongo and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Nicholas was pre-deceased by his parents John and Luise Luongo and his brothers Anthony and Americo Luongo.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Tuesday, August 9, from 4-8 pm. Funeral on Wednesday assembling at the funeral home at 9am Funeral mass at Our Ladies of Sorrows Church in South Orange at 10:30 am. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover to follow.
