Dr. Miguel Echevarria, of Florham Park, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Lima, he carried with him a deep appreciation for family, friends, and culture throughout his life. He came to the United States in 1975 where he established a respected career as a pathologist.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, he found great joy in the arts, particularly with music, where he would always comment on the beauty of certain pieces.
Above all else, he treasured his family and friends and believed strongly in keeping loved ones connected no matter the distance. He was often the one to bring people together, making sure everyone stayed in touch and remained close. His warmth, guidance, and devotion created a lasting bond among family and friends that will continue for generations.
Devoted father of Miguel Echevarria, his wife Tracy Santella, Daniel Echevarria, his wife Suzanne Echevarria, Stephen Echevarria and his long-time girlfriend Danielle Minaian. Cherished grandfather of Cody, Cooper and Reid. Dear brother of Judith, Pedro, Marina, Anna Maria, Vicente and Liliana. He was also survived by his former spouse and dear friend Della de Raismes, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Miguel was pre-deceased by his siblings Octavio, Francisco, and Gerardo.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Thursday, May 28th from 4-7pm. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 29th at St. Margaret Roman Catholic Church in Morristown at 10am, followed by the interment at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Stanhope.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Miguel's name to the charity of your choice.
