Marion Basile (Valenti), 100, of Bloomfield, formerly of Jersey City, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on July 29, 2020.  Marion worked as a talented seamstress before owning & operating Marion's Luncheonette in Jersey City.  Marion was truly devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren.  She adored her family and held her loved ones in high regard. Marion demonstrated her strong affection by consistently putting the needs of her family before her own. in few words, she was independent, sophisticated, extremely savvy and truly ahead of her time.  Marion, also expressed the importance of her faith by encouraging others to believe.

Beloved wife of over 80 years to James A. Basile. Devoted mother of Rosemarie Scannella, her husband James T., the late Michael R. Basile and his wife Victoria. loving grandmother of Danielle Blatz, James a. Scannella, his wife Suzie, Michael J. Basile, David Basile, his wife Jennifer.  Proud great-grandmother of Nicole, James, Giselle, Marco, Jonah, Rowan and Isla. Marion was the last surviving of 8 siblings.

Funeral mass will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020, 11:30am at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover, followed by the interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
