Obituary

Maria Palmieri, a beloved wife, "Mommy," grandmother "Grammy," great-grandmother "Mimi," sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 20th, surrounded by her loving family, who were always at the very center of her life.

Maria was the devoted wife of Raffaele, with whom she shared over 62 wonderful years of marriage and a life built on love and family. Together, they created a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, family gatherings, delicious meals, memorable vacations, and countless moments that their family will cherish forever.

Maria's greatest joy was the large and loving family she and Raffaele built together. She was the dedicated "Mommy" of her three daughters and their spouses: Patti and her husband Wayne, Maryanne and her husband John, and Angela and her husband Paul. She was a proud and loving "Grammy" to her eight grandchildren and their spouses: Michael, Angela and her husband Ryan, Kristina and her husband Marc, Nina and her fiancé Michael, Domenic, Liliana, Joseph, and Nicholas. Her love grew even more with the next generation as she became "Mimi" to her great-granddaughter, Aria, and eagerly awaited the arrival of her future great-grandson, Lorenzo. Being a mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother brought Maria tremendous joy, and the love she had for her family could be felt in everything she did.

Maria is survived by her beloved sister, Grazia; her brothers, Aldo, Giovanni, and Franco; her brother-in-law, Vincent; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones who will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her parents, Lucia and Savino; her sister, Rosanna; her brother, Salvatore; her brother-in-law, Nicola; and her sister-in-law, Carmela.

To know Maria was to know how deeply she cared for the people around her. Her home was a place where everyone was welcomed, cared for, and, of course, well-fed. For her, food was more than a meal; it was one of the many ways she expressed her love and brought her family together.

Maria was also incredibly talented with her hands and had a special love for crocheting. Over the years, she created countless baby dresses, blankets, hats, and other beautiful pieces for the people she loved. Each one was made with the same care and generosity that she brought to everything she did.

Maria also found great joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved watching her favorite shows, shopping, trips to the casino, getting her hair done, listening to Italian music, and wearing the clothing and jewelry she loved. These were all part of Maria's unmistakable personality and the way she embraced life.

Maria's presence will be deeply missed, but reminders of her remain everywhere– in the recipes her family continues to make, the blankets and dresses she crocheted, the Sunday dinners shared around the table, and every moment her family comes together. Her love and influence will continue to live on through the traditions she created and the generations of family she cherished so deeply.

Maria Palmieri leaves behind an enduring legacy of love, family, generosity, and devotion. The love she shared with Raffaele throughout their years together was at the heart of the life they built and the family they cherished. She will forever be loved, deeply missed, and lovingly remembered as the remarkable wife, "Mommy," "Grammy," "Mimi," sister, and friend that she was.
