Obituary

Liberato Armenti, 92, passed away peacefully at his home on July 11, 2021.  Liberato was born and raised in Guasto, Castelpetroso, Italy before coming to America in April of 1970.  He resided in Irvington before moving to Union in 1983.  He was proud to be an American Citizen.  Liberato worked as a first class mechanic with PSE&G in Newark for many years before retiring in 1992. After retirement he worked as a landscaper and enjoyed tending to his extensive garden for many years.  He also enjoyed playing the harmonica and accordian.

Beloved husband of 69 years to Libera (Martella) Armenti.  Son of the late Amalio and Concetta Armenti.  Devoted father of Mario Armenti, (Diane), Concetta Cangialosi (Michael) and the late Amalio Armenti.  Cherished grandfather of Liberato (Victoria), Jennifer, Nicholas (Chris), Daniela (Sam), the late Giovanni, Joseph, Melissa (Giorgio).  Proud great-grandfather of Lauren, Sophia, Mario, Cristina, Siena, Rachel, Kara, Giovanni and Vincent.  Dear brother of Umberto, the late Giacomo, Tonino, Edda and Aurelio.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and his caregiver Joanna.

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Wednesday from 4-8pm.  Funeral on Thursday assembling at the funeral home at 8:45am followed by the funeral mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 9:45am.  Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
