Joseph W. Brauner, 84, of Bayonne, NJ, formerly of Upper Darby, PA, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2021.  Joseph graduated from Villanova University and earned his Doctorate from the University of Rochester.  He was a well- respected tenured Professor of Chemistry at St. Peter's University for over 50 years and also published many research papers at Rutgers University.   Joseph enjoyed hiking, biking, reading, camping, tennis, cooking, fine wine and good beer. His greatest source of joy and contentment came from spending his summers with his family in the Adirondacks.  He was loved by all who knew him.

Beloved husband of 57 years to Mary Anne Brauner.  Devoted father of Joseph G. Brauner, his wife Wanda, Theresa Gormley, her husband Rich, Anne Ippolito and her husband Tobi.  Cherished grandfather of Chloe & Holly, Samantha, Cassidy & Cameron, Toby, Michael & Jessica.  Brother of Anthony Brauner.  He is pre-deceased by his parents Joseph & Anna and his brother Michael.

A funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Church in Florham Park on Tuesday at 11am, followed by the Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.  In lieu of flowers, your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.
