Obituary

John V. Janacek, 91, of East Hanover, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Montreal, Canada, to parents John and Pauline, John and his family immigrated to the United States in 1936.

As a young man, John served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, earning an honorable discharge.

He received a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Newark College of Engineering (now part of NJIT), and spent decades applying his skills in commercial and government sectors. John culminated his career in Quality Assurance for the Department of Defense during the Reagan era, inspecting many of the futuristic military systems that helped end the Cold War.

A devoted husband, John brought joy to his wife Eleanor (Natalewicz), the love of his life, for more than 62 years. Rarely separated, their love was inspirational and evidenced in their beloved sons Douglas (wife, Regina) and Bob (wife, Cindy). His four grandchildren, Benjamin, Caeli, Jennifer and Brian filled him with pride and were sources of profound happiness.

John was a dear brother to Joseph and his wife, Janet, and to the late Mary Stajek, and her late husband, Hank. A loving Uncle, John leaves behind two nieces and four nephews.

He will be deeply missed.
