James Daniel
Zarra
d. Nov 3, 2025
James Daniel Zarra, "Jimmy", 83, of Towaco, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Jimmy was a talented hairdresser whose creativity and warmth made his clients feel like family. Beyond his career, he was best known for his big heart, generous spirit, and love of simple pleasures — listening to his favorite doo-wop records, making homemade pizza, and celebrating his Italian heritage. His greatest joy came from time spent with his children and grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Jimmy will be remembered for his kindness, his warmth, and the love he gave so freely. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Devoted father of Jennifer McGinty, her husband Brian, and Gail Zarra. Cherished grandfather of Dylan Thomas, Brayden James and Gianna. Dear brother of John Michael Zarra and his wife Ermine. Loving uncle of Jeanine D'Anna and Dane Zarra. Great-uncle of Angelina and Zoila. Loving stepfather to Michael Rubinstein and Cara Sweet. Also survived by many cousins and friends. Jimmy was pre-deceased by his parents Daniel and Josephine Zarra.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc. in Florham Park on Friday, November 7th from 4-7pm. Funeral on Saturday, November 8th, assembling at the funeral home at 9am, followed by the funeral mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 10am. Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
