Isabelle C Oakes

Isabelle C. Oakes, 96, of Florida, formerly of East Hanover, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, with her daughter Patrice by her side.

Devoted mother of Alfred E. Oakes III, his wife Paula, Patrice Cunningham and her husband Randy, Brian C. Oakes and his wife Carol. Cherished grandmother of Brittany and Christopher Oakes. Dear sister of Beatrice Tekin. Isabelle was pre-deceased by her husband Alfred E. Oakes and her parents Carmen Anthony & Isabella Colantuoni, brothers, Anthony and Raymond, and sister Carol Johnstone.

Isabelle grew up in West Orange and worked at McGraw Edison where she met her husband Al. They moved to East Hanover in 1958. She was very active in her children’s activities including baseball, marching band and dance. Isabelle worked as an Executive Assistant at Sandoz (Novartis) Pharmaceutical for many years. She was an avid sports fan of the Yankees and Giants until moving to Florida in 2015, where she developed an allegiance to the Tampa Bay Rays, the Buccaneers. and became a dedicated fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. Isabelle was a fantastic cook, a "shop-aholic" and a "fashionista" ahead of her time. She also enjoyed summers at the Jersey Shore and the East Hanover Pool.

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Thursday, September 24th from 9:30am – 11:30am, followed by the interment and committal prayer service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
