Gaetano "Tommy" Colavito, 88, passed away peacefully in Florida, surrounded by his loving family, on February 2, 2025.
Tommy was born in Bari, Italy and came to American as a survivor of the SS Andrea Doria shipwreck. He was the owner and operator of Tommy Colavito Landscaping Company in West Orange for many years, before retiring and moving to Florida. Tommy had a passion for landscaping and gardening, enjoyed horseracing, and had a love for nature, but his greatest passion was his love for his family.
Devoted father of Teresa Williams, her husband James, Suzanne Colavito, her fiance Frank, Stella Vaccaro, her husband Armand, Vincent Colavito, his wife Nancy, Gina McGuire and her husband Ron. Cherished grandfather of James, Anthony and his wife Natale, Regina, Samantha and her husband Dillon, Michael and Alyssa, John and Vincent. Tommy was also survived by his companion Paulette Delpapa and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Tommy was pre-deceased by his wife Marjore, his son Guy, his brother Joe and his sister Lena.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Friday, February 7th from 11am - 1pm, followed by the interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
