Obituary

Frederick Martin Fox passed away peacefully on November 27, 2023, in Midland Park, New Jersey.

Born August 17, 1929, he grew up in Jersey City and married his high school sweetheart, Geraldine Holmstrom.  Fred and Gerry presided over an ever-increasing family of 7 children, their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  It was a beautiful life.

Fred's presence was evident when he walked into a room.  At 6 ft. 3 he earned the nickname Big Fred.  He enjoyed family trips to Block Island and Europe, ice cream, crisp chardonnay, and a good meal.  He is most remembered for his love of Gerry and the family they built together over 67 years.

Devoted father of Marian Rypkema, her husband Paul, Frederick M. Fox, Jr., his wife Judy, Peter Fox, his wife Cheryl, Therese Mauch, her husband Jim, Paul Fox, his wife Lynn, and Elizabeth Killian.  Cherished grandfather of 24 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.  Fred is also survived by his son-in-law Steve Bartner and his wife Natalie.  Fred's life was full of many wonderful relationships, including sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends Kevin Deering and Tom Indoe, whom he thought of as sons.

Fred was predeceased by his wife Geraldine (Holmstrom) Fox and his daughter Geraldine Bartner.
