Florence J. Runo, 94, long-time resident of Clifton, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026.

Florence "Flo" was born in Passaic, New Jersey, and spent more than 70 years as a cherished resident of Clifton, a community she proudly called home. One of seven children, Flo grew up with a deep appreciation for family, faith, and the importance of caring for others, values that remained at the heart of her life.

A devoted member of St. Paul's Church in Clifton, Flo was actively involved in parish life and was a dedicated member of the Rosary Society. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life and was reflected in the kindness, compassion, and generosity she showed to everyone she met.

Flo had a remarkable work ethic and genuinely loved to work. Prior to her retirement, she enjoyed a long and successful career in management with Pfizer, Inc., where she earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues through her professionalism, dedication, and leadership.

An avid animal lover, Flo had a special affection for dogs. Throughout the years, her beloved pets were far more than companions; they were treasured members of the family who brought her immeasurable joy and comfort.

Flo also found great happiness in gardening and was well known for her beautiful flower beds, which reflected her patience, care, and eye for beauty. Whether tending to her garden or admiring nature's gifts, she found peace and fulfillment in life's simple pleasures.

A passionate traveler, Flo embraced every opportunity to explore the world around her. Her journeys took her throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, creating cherished memories and stories that she loved to share with family and friends.

Above all, Flo treasured her family. She was a familiar and beloved presence at family gatherings, celebrations, and holiday traditions. Her warmth, sense of humor, and genuine interest in others made every occasion brighter.

Flo was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family and friends left a lasting impression on countless lives. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, faith, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

She was survived by 19 loving nieces and nephews, and many family members and friends.

Florence was pre-deceased by her parents Nicholas and Cecile, and her siblings Joseph, William, Lawrence, Albert, Philip and Henry.

A memorial funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 9th at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Clifton at 10am, followed by the inurnment at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Saddle Brook.
