Arlene Adamo (Rafanello), 85, longtime resident of East Hanover, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on August 10, 2026.

She was born in Newark and lived in a spirited multigenerational Italian home. She co-owned and worked in the family business and at "Ma Bell" telecommunications company. She was the matriarch of the Adamo family. Every Sunday, as Arlene's grandchildren grew, they would gather at her house for a delicious Italian dinner. Her faith, optimism and love of life made her an inspiration to all family and friends. Everyone was always welcome in her home, so much so that her kindness superseded even her cooking.

Devoted mother of Theresa Ann McCormick, her husband James, Vincent Adamo, his wife Rosemary, Frank Adamo Jr., Mario Adamo, and his wife Jennifer. Loving grandmother of Shanna, Brian, Sarah, and Marissa. Proud Great-grandmother of Payton.  Dear sister of Victoria Allora, John Rafanello and his wife Elaine.

She is predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Frank Adamo, her eldest son Leonard Adamo, her parents Nancy and Anthony Rafanello, and her brothers Anthony and Ronald Rafanello.

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Thursday, August 13th from 4-7pm.  Funeral on Friday, August 14th, assembling at the funeral home at 10am, followed by the funeral mass at St. Vincent Martry Roman Catholic Church in Madison at 11am.  Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
