Obituary

Andrew Licari, 92, of Livingston, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2021.

Born in North Arlington to Sicilian immigrants, Andrew moved with his family to Newark upon the death of his mother when he was 4.  He met the love of his life in Newark when they were just children and promised he would marry her one day.  During WWII Andrew worked in his brother-in-law's garment factory to assist the war effort.  Moving to Livingston in 1962, Andrew turned his love of food and cooking into his dream restaurant, La Scala, in Orange.  He is the long-time owner of Solid State, Inc. and NTE Electronics in Bloomfield, as well as establishing Evergreen Miniature Horse Farm in Livingston, where you could find him on weekends tending to his horses and pastures.

Beloved husband of 71 years to his childhood sweetheart, Viola "Tootsie" (Pajer) Licari.  Devoted father of Donna Barker and her husband Christopher.  Proud grandfather of Adam, Kristina and Andrew Barker.  Pre-deceased by his parents, his brother John, sisters Dorothy Licari, Lena Pizzolato and Catherine Maffiore.

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm.  Funeral on Saturday assembling at the funeral home at 9:45am followed by the funeral mass at St. Philomena's Church in Livingston at 10:45am.  Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
