Thomas J Michaels, Sr.

Thomas J. Michaels, Sr., 85, of Somerset, formerly of Andover, passed away peacefully at his home on July 2, 2019.  Throughout his life, Tom owned a series of businesses in partnership with his brother John. Besides his family, his passions included baseball (which he played till he was 76), softball (which he played till he was 81) and the love of music. Starting with “The Dreamers”, his early 60’s band with brother john, to playing electric, acoustic, and steal guitars as well piano for all who loved to listen.

Beloved husband of Nancy (Stone) Michaels.  Devoted father of Thomas Michaels, Jr., John Clifford Michaels, Ron Michaels and his wife Stacy, daughter-in-law Felicia. Stepfather of Jonathan Brunsell, and his wife Sheila, Amanda Carey and her husband Ryan, Adam Selletto, Derek Sherin.  Cherished grandfather of Thomas, III and his wife Cristina, Genie and her husband Savino, Alana, Christina and her husband Robert, John Clifford, Michelle, Sarah, Nina, and Christian, Samantha and Isabel, Lyla and Sean. Proud great-grandfather of Evey and Reya, Giuliana and Valentina, Parker, Keaton and Amelia Grace.  Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.   

He is pre-deceased by his parents John and Marion and his siblings Michael, Gloria,
Columbia and John.    

A memorial visitation will be held at the Leonardis Memorial Home 210 Ridgedale Ave.
Florham Park on Tuesday, July 9th from 4-8pm.  The memorial funeral mass will be held on
Wednesday, July 10th, 9:45am at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover, followed by the inurnment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
