Michael J Corbitt

Michael J. Corbitt, 74, of Whippany, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 5, 2018. 

Michael was born in Newark and resided in Whippany since 1971.  He was employed by Airborne Express for 30 years.  Michael was an avid golfer and enjoyed his many years at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club.  He also enjoyed vacationing in Florida and trips to the Jersey Shore. 

Michael will be most remembered for the love he had for his family.  He was happily married to the love of his life, Alice, and his greatest joy was time spent with his two grandsons.  Michael was a constant presence at their sporting events where he was affectionately recognized by many as “Pop Pop”.  He lived every day to be a part of their many accomplishments. 

Beloved husband of 54 years to Alice M. Corbitt (Kondroski).  Devoted father of Michael Corbitt, his wife Trisha, Lisa Capra and her husband John.  Cherished grandfather of Jonathan and Michael. 

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home 210 Ridgedale Ave. Florham Park on Sunday from 2-5pm.  Funeral on Monday assembling at the funeral home at 9am followed by a funeral mass at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel in Whippany at 10am.  Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
