Marie (Chickie) Mauriello Scotti, 91, of Long Branch, formerly of Monmouth Beach and Florham Park died at home on January 18, 2019. Chickie grew up in East Orange, NJ and graduated magna cum laude from Montclair State Teachers College in 1949. She was active on campus throughout her 4 years, traveled to Mexico City by bus for a summer semester and served as senior class president. Chickie was active in the Rosary Society at Holy Family Church and Church of the Precious Blood. Chickie devoted her life to God, her husband and family. Her family party organizational skills were legendary with meticulous menu lists maintained over the years. She loved to cook and entertain and could feed a crowd of 50 at the drop of a hat. Chickie truly lived God’s message throughout her daily life by taking many who were alone or in need under her wing. She loved spending time on the beach with her extended family, a thermos of coffee and potato and egg sandwiches. Winters were spent in Honolulu with her late husband enjoying tai chi, daily mass and sunsets.
Chickie has left an indelible mark on the many lives she has touched throughout the years. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 51 years, Dr. Daniel C. Scotti and son, Dr. Michael B. Scotti. She is survived by her children: RoseAnne & Konstantine Georgiades, Daniel & Laura Scotti, MaryEllen & Ted Gibbon, Angela & Darren Goodwin, John & Shannon Scotti as well as her grandchildren: Meli Georgiades, Elia & Katie Georgiades; Loren, Carmine, Emily Crincoli, Sarah Scotti; Danielle & Kevin Koller, Jessica Gibbon; Michael, Shaun, Maria Goodwin; Phoenix, Kauiki, Rio and Rosie Scotti.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home 210 Ridgedale Ave. Florham Park on Thursday from 4-8pm. Funeral on Friday assembling at the funeral home at 9:30am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church in Florham Park at 10:30am. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
