Joann M. Natali (née Bednarz), M.S.W of East Hanover, NJ died on October 18, 2018 with her family at her side. She was born on May 13, 1945 and raised in Passaic, NJ by her parents, Emil and Lillian Bednarz, both now deceased. Joann lived in East Hanover for over forty years with her surviving husband, Alfred Natali. They raised her three surviving children: Jennifer Natali, Christian Natali, and Danielle Natali. After receiving a B.A. degree from Cabrini College in Radnor, PA, Joann pursued a career as a social worker, dedicated to helping others through counseling, behavior therapy, group games and loving care. Joann first counseled patients at Embreeville State Hospital in Coatesville, PA. She directed social services at Daughters of Miriam Center in Clifton, NJ. After earning a Master’s degree in Social Work from Rutgers University in 1991, Joann worked to support emotionally disturbed children at Windsor School in Pompton Lakes, NJ and Hillside Public Schools, NJ. Joann enjoyed caring for family, friends, her grandson, Andrew Natali, and her beloved dogs, Emma and Zuzu.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover on Tuesday from 10:30-11:15am followed by a memorial funeral mass at 11:15am.
