Henry ‘Hank’ J. Wilner, 84,of East Hanover, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2017.
A retired Wells Fargo Bank Executive with a 52 year banking career who was Messenger to Senior Vice President. Born March 8, 1933 in Paterson, NJ to Mary and Henry Wilner, he was a graduate of Paterson Eastside High School in 1950 and was active in sports in the Paterson area.
Hank was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers and various other banking schools and associations. Hank served in the U.S. Army Military police during the Korean War conflict, then he rejoined a Paterson Bank in 1955 where he met his wife, Gloria, who predeceased him in January 2014 after 57 years of marriage. Upon joining First National State Bank of New Jersey
[ now Wells Fargo Bank ] in 1968 he subsequently through endowed people skills became responsible for relationships with the gaming industry in Atlantic City and Las Vegas as well as other business concerns throughout New Jersey. Hank was a long time member of the Essex County Country Club where he enjoyed his golf and member relationships.
Beloved husband to the late Gloria Wilner. Devoted father to Donna Schaeffer and her husband Douglas and Raymond Wilner and lifetime partner Kathy D’Amico. Cherished grandfather of Monique Savastano and her husband Vincent and Michelle Krause and her husband Scott. Dear great grandfather of Vinny and Christian Savastano and Liam and Cameron Krause.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home 210 Ridgedale Ave. Florham Park NJ on Thursday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral on Friday assembling at 10am followed by a mass at St Rose of Lima Church East Hanover NJ at 11am. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
