Francesco DiStasio, 90, of Orange, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2019.
Francesco was born and raised in Alberona, Italy where he met his wife of 66 years, Lucia. They married on December 22, 1952 and started a family before coming to Orange, NJ in 1972. He was a talented Mason for over 40 years until his retirement. Francesco was also a long-time member and President of the Alberonese Social Club.
Francesco will be remembered as a kind and loving person and a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Lucia (nee Manganelli), his son Donato and his wife Gerardina, his daughter Pina and her husband Nicola; five grandchildren, Lucia Buscio and her husband Johnpaul, Angela Zirpolo and her husband Gabriel, Francesco DiStasio and his wife Michelle, Lucia Pitti and her husband Daniele and Angela DiStasio; and six great-grandchildren, Francesca, Gabriella, Donato, Joey, Johnpaul and Arabella.
Francesco is also survived by five siblings and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Giovanni. Francesco will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home 210 Ridgedale Ave. Florham Park on Tuesday from 2-4and 7-9 pm. Funeral on Wednesday assembling at 9:30am followed by a Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 10:30am. Entombment at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union NJ .
