Donald J. Pitrelli, 70, of Pompano Beach, formerly of Hollywood, Florida and Bloomfield, NJ, peacefully went home to Heaven on December 17, 2018.
Born in Newark, NJ in 1948, Donny is predeceased by his parents, Amadeo (Pete) and Catherine Pitrelli and his brother, Gerald Pitrelli, all of Hollywood, Florida and Bloomfield, NJ. He is survived by his niece Deborah Pitrelli of Syracuse, NY, many loving cousins and dear friends in both Florida and New Jersey.
Donald served his country in the Vietnam War era as a communication specialist in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. A graduate of Bloomfield High School and having attended air conditioning certification programs at Broward (FL) County College, Donny worked for years in the construction in South Florida as a member of Laborers Union Local 938 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Donald also spent years working in the food, hospitality, hotel services, security and transport industries.
Donald passions in life were his family, his pug dogs, Mugsy and Bam Bam, football, baseball and softball. But most of all, “Donnie Defense” was the ultimate fan of University of Alabama college football. Now for eternity, he can, “Roll Tide, Roll!”
