Carmen “Butch” DeVone, 75, of Hunterdon County, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on May 12, 2017.  Butch was the Chief Water Inspector in Newark, retiring in 2004.  He was at the forefront at much of Newark’s renaissance and new development over the years.  Butch loved to hunt and fish, but more importantly loved spending time with his grandchildren, whom were the source of his happiness and light of his life.  He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

Beloved husband of 53 years to Genevieve (DelSordi).  Devoted father of Nicholas, John, Carmen and his wife Amy.  Cherished grandfather of Michael and Peter.  Dear brother of Angela Flanagan, Arlene Moretti, Cookie Smith, and the late Millie Pinto.  Loving brother-in-law of Mary Ann Gammero.  Uncle of John Gammero, James Gammero, Jeanine Gammero and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home 210 Ridgedale Ave. Florham Park on Monday from 4-8pm.  Funeral on Tuesday assembling at 10am followed by a mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 11am.  Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
