Raymond Joseph Lacara, 74, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2017 in Charleston, SC. 

Raymond was born in Newark, NJ to Raymond and Helen Lacara. He attended Essex Catholic High School and graduated from Seton Hall University. He married Josephine Carbone in 1969 at Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark. Raymond spent his career as a developer and builder in the Poconos.

He and his wife enjoyed travelling and eventually moved near Charleston, SC. He also enjoyed fishing, reading and spending time with his family. Raymond was a well-loved, easy going and generous man. He loved his family and was always willing to help others.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 48 years, Josephine (Carbone) Lacara, his daughter Tara Furze and her husband Matt, and their children, Roman and Isabella.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at St. Lucy’s Church in Newark at 11am, followed by the entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
